"THEY MAY FORGET WHAT YOU SAID - BUT THEY WILL NEVER FORGET HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL"
—Carl W. Buehner
Speech night is a wonderful opportunity for students to hone their oratorical skills. While participation in the public speaking competition is selective, all students will be required to perform a speech or poem of their choosing in front of their class. Those who wish to compete will first need to prove their ability in the classroom, as there are a limited number of slots available for the competition. The best public speakers will be chosen, as we want to show the seventh and eighth graders that sixth grade can really perform!
Speech night is typically held towards the end of May. An online portfolio of poems and prose pieces will be made available well in advance. Check back in the spring of 2016!
