Homework & learning updates
Monday - Students should fill in the outline that we copied down in class in preparation for writing an expository essay about whichever Shakespeare play they have been researching in class.
Tuesday - Students have written the intro to their expository essays in class. They should write the first two body paragraphs for homework tonight. Wednesday - Write body paragraphs three and four for the expository essay. Thursday - We will write the conclusion paragraph in class. Enjoy your spring break! Phase one of PARCC is over and we are returning to nightly homework.
Monday - Read chapter nineteen of Harriet Tubman and create a prompt based on the chapter. The assignment was discussed in detail in class, and all student questions asked were answered, Tuesday - Complete the graphic organizer on p.244 of SpringBoard and annotate the article on pp.245 - 246 (students had time in class to do this on Monday and should have very little left to finish at home). Wednesday - Create five research cards on index cards using p.250 of SpringBoard as a guide. Thursday - Read and annotate the essay on pp.252 - 254 in SpringBoard Phase I of PARCC testing is next week, and students will be testing on ELA on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and math on Thursday and Friday. We are preparing for those tests this week.
Homework: Monday - CSR chart for chapter 16 of Harriet Tubman Tuesday - AEC: How has the characterization of Harriet Tubman been developed over the course of the book? Due Thursday. Thursday - AECECEC:What literary devices does the author use to strengthen her writing in Harriet Tubman? Homework
Monday - Write the final draft of the AEC paragraph that you intend to use in your writing portfolio. You must have the rough draft and final draft. Tuesday - Finish the writing growth reflection essay. Wednesday - Create a cover page and assemble your writing portfolio, due Friday. |
